Chiefs Star Patrick Mahomes Already Appears to be in Midseason Form
A lot of attention has been focused on the way defenses and a lack of elite weapons have forced the quarterback to play. It is a quiet approach of moving the sticks a handful of yards at a time, dinking and dunking down the field. This is due to a lack of trust in the past two years of weapons and how the defense approaches the 2x MVP.
It has been noted not only by the media but by Mahomes himself that the star wants to return to an explosive style of offense. With Xavier Worthy and Rashee Rice both healthy to start the season, this seems extremely likely. Mahomes finished the final preseason game 8/13 for 143 yards and a lone touchdown in limited action. It was a vanilla offense with Andy Reid wisely saving his best tricks for when the games actually begin to count. Still, the quarterback put together a strong performance and looks ready to begin the year hot.
