Super Bowl tickets have always been among the most expensive of any event in the country for quite some time. This year's Kansas City Chiefs vs. Philadelphia Eagles matchup is certainly no different.

The average "get-in" price is hovering around $5,000 as of Thursday, 10 days before the contest, suggesting this is not a spectacle for the faint of heart. That doesn't even include travel accommodations, which are sure to be much more expensive than normal in New Orleans given the circumstances.

One standout Chief, starting safety Justin Reid, revealed on Thursday just how much appearing in the Super Bowl is going to cost him.

Chiefs S Justin Reid Spends Exorbitant Sum on Super Bowl Tickets

Reid told the media that he bought 30 tickets for friends and family for the game. Even at just the $5,000 price point that doesn't include any of the additional cost. As Reid explained, the Chiefs "got to win just for me to break even."

He's not joking. 30 tickets at $5,000 is already $150,000. Super Bowl-winning players will get a $171,000 bonus, so Reid might actually have to win just to avoid losing money.

This is an interesting game for Reid, who is a pending free agent. Chiefs general manager Brett Veach has never re-signed a member of the secondary to an extension. Perhaps he'll reverse course, as he's expected to for All-Pro Trent McDuffie, but Reid enters an uncertain offseason in which he could be leaving Kansas City.

If that's the case, this might be his last chance to play in the Super Bowl. That he wants as many friends and family there as possible suggests the importance of the matchup and hopefully, Reid can help deliver a three-peat.

FanDuel Sportsbook lists the Chiefs as 1.5-point favorites with -130 odds on the moneyline. This is Kansas City's Super Bowl to lose, but it won't be easy. For Reid's sake, his bank account could certainly use the win.
