On Wednesday night, the Kansas City Chiefs traded former second-round wide receiver Skyy Moore to the San Francisco 49ers for future sixth and seventh-round picks. This trade helped both teams. For the Chiefs, Moore was not going to make their 53-man roster, so getting draft capital back for him will help with future trades. Meanwhile, the 49ers' wide receiver room has been hit by injuries, so adding Moore gives them another body.
That said, Kansas City is likely not done making pre-roster cut trades. Cornerback Joshua Williams is probably the next Chief to be shipped out of Kansas City after all the offseason additions they made to the cornerback room.
On the other hand, the Chiefs are also most definitely looking at players they could trade for. With it looking ever more probable that Kansas City cut ties with Elijah Mitchell before the season, the Chiefs will be looking to add to their running back room. A player whom they should inquire about is Houston Texans running back Dameon Pierce.
Sources: Teams making calls in search of running back additions include the Saints, Browns and Chiefs.

Chiefs Should Trade for Dameon Pierce
Chiefs Kingdom would welcome an addition like Pierce. In three seasons, the 25-year-old has rushed for 1,698 yards on 405 carries and scored eight touchdowns. Pierce burst onto the scene in his rookie year, rushing for 939 yards on 220 carries and scoring four touchdowns.
However, since then, he hasn't had the same success. Now, that's not entirely his fault, as Houston started to use other backs over him. While that may not sound like a reason to trade for the 25-year-old, he still has plenty of upside for Kansas City.
During Pierce's rookie campaign, he had seven rushes of 20 or more yards. Although that was three seasons ago, that's exactly the type of explosiveness the Chiefs are looking for out of their backfield.
Even though Pierce isn't the fastest player, his power is what allows him to break into the open field. Despite that skill set being similar to Isiah Pacheco and Kareem Hunt, he has proven to be more explosive than both of those guys.
With that being said, it seems that Pierce is on track to be cut by Houston. So why would Kansas City waste draft capital on him? It's simple: if the Chiefs wait until he hits the open market, they will have to compete with even more teams to acquire him. Inquiring about a trade likely puts them up against just a few teams.
Monitoring the situation and seeing what general manager Brett Veach does over the next few days will be interesting.
