The Kansas City Chiefs added two new weapons this offseason of note, with rookie Jalen Royals and free-agent signing Robert Tonyan both expected to make an impact. However, the more exciting storyline is the fact that while many of the team's weapons are returning pieces, this will be the first time this group is heading into a season healthy with high expectations.

Not since Tyreek Hill's departure has Patrick Mahomes had this level of expected stability. With Rashee Rice healthy and expected to return for the 2025 season, it is hard not to get excited about what this group might accomplish together.

Not only this, but you have Kareem Hunt and Isiah Pacheco both in the backfield fully healthy. We are yet to see what Pacheco and Hunt can accomplish together in a capable offense. This duo might not be new, but it is the first time we are going to see the duo given a true chance at finding elite production. Bringing us to Rashee Rice, Hollywood Brown, and Xavier Worthy, who will be playing for the first time together. Rice and Brown both were consistently out of the lineup in the 2024 season, while Worthy needed time to establish himself at the next level.

Chiefs' Exciting New Weapons Group Bolsters Super Bowl Expectations

Travis Kelce remains a question mark at this stage of his career, but cannot be counted out as he prepares for what might be the veteran's final season. Noah Gray, Jared Wiley, and Robert Tonyan are the secondary options at the position, giving the Chiefs the most depth they've had at the position in quite some time.

Add in JuJu Smith-Schuster, Jalen Royals, and Skyy Moore, and the Chiefs' new-look offense should have the rest of the league concerned. This is as healthy and scary a group as the franchise has offered Mahomes in recent seasons. All the quarterback has done in that time is make three straight Super Bowls, winning two of them. It is hard to imagine that this season plays out any differently if things go as expected.

The return of Rice and the surprise emergence of Royals have set the stage for the Kansas City offense to have a chance to return to offensive dominance. No question, the biggest development of the Chiefs' offseason has been adding depth to the skill positions, and star receiver Rashee Rice has needed time to get ready for his return.
