Teams around the league have been making many different signings since the legal tampering period opened up on Monday. The Chiefs have added the likes of CB Kristian Fulton, OT Jaylon Moore, and RB Elijah Mitchell while re-signing WR Marquise Brown and LB Nick Bolton.

While those additions stand out to Chiefs fans, they have also lost guys like Justin Reid, Joe Thuney, Tershawn Wharton, and Justin Watson.

On Tuesday evening, another receiver bolted in free agency. According to Jordan Schultz, the Baltimore Ravens are signing WR DeAndre Hopkins to a one-year, $6 million deal.

Last October, the Chiefs traded a 2025 fifth-round pick to the Tennessee Titans in exchange for Hopkins when Rashee Rice and Brown were down with injuries.

While fans knew he wasn't the same player in his prime, they were happy to have a competent veteran in the receiver's room. Over 10 regular season games in Kansas City, Hopkins notched 41 receptions (59 targets) for 437 yards and four touchdowns.

The 32-year-old seemed to struggle to consistently impact the game with the Chiefs. He finished with 40 or fewer yards in 10 of his 13 outings, including the postseason.

With Brown, Rice, and Xavier Worthy expected to KC's WR trio in 2025, there wasn't much room for Hopkins going forward. GM Brett Veach made a dart throw bringing in Hopkins, but it didn't work out the way they envisioned.

He now joins the Ravens and will get a chance to play against his former team. Baltimore is set to visit the Chiefs during the 2025 campaign, and that game just got some extra juice with Hopkins signing there.

The Ravens traveled to Arrowhead for the season opener in 2024, where the Chiefs won 27-20.

Regardless of what happened last season, Hopkins decided the Ravens were his best option on the open market after playing in KC for just one season.
