The Kansas City Chiefs have one preseason game left on their schedule before the regular season starts in September.
Thus far into the preseason, they have dropped two games, but it has given players on the roster bubble the chance to step up. In the same breath, it appears one defender who has been underwhelming may be done for the 2025 season.
Head coach Andy Reid spoke with the media on Monday and revealed that DE Felix Anudike-Uzomah strained his hamstring and could land on injured reserve. If he gets put on IR, it would end his 2025 season.

Chiefs DE Felix Anudike-Uzomah’s 2025 Season May Be Over Due to Injury
Anudike-Uzomah hurt his hamstring during Friday's preseason game against Seattle. Before going down, he had two solo tackles, but this injury could be a massive hurdle for him in his NFL career.
He was drafted with the 31st overall pick in the 2023 NFL draft out of Kansas City. Fans thought the local standout would be a key piece to the defensive front, but that hasn't been the case. In 34 career games (three starts), he has supplied 41 total tackles, eight TFLs, 14 QB hits, and three sacks.
Last season, he finished with a 58.4 overall grade (124th among 210 graded edge rushers), 60.5 pass-rush grade (101st among 210 graded edge rushers), and a 56.3 run-defense grade (138th among 210 graded edge rushers) per PFF.
Despite being a first-round pick, he hasn't shown that he will be a long-term piece on the defensive line. He's played in 31% or less of the defensive snaps, and in a year that he needed to stand out, it looks like he will be on the sideline.
Kansas City's defensive line is led by George Karlaftis and Chris Jones, but they want someone else to take that step forward. With Anudike-Uzomah now dealing with an injury, it will only give more reps to guys like Charles Omenihu, Malik Herring, Ashton Gillotte, and Nate Matlack.
The NFL is a what have you done for me lately type of league, and due to the 23-year-old's underwhelming play now mixed in with this injury, there's a real chance he won't be in future plans for the Chiefs.
