If there was any doubt about how the Kansas City Chiefs must approach the trade deadline, those questions were answered. The Reigning Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles, made three trades on their bye week, with the latest move being Monday morning's addition of former Miami Dolphins edge rusher Jaelan Phillips. Directly addressing their biggest needs on the trade market is a clear mesage that the Eagles are doing everything in their power to stay in Super Bowl contention.

After losing to the Buffalo Bills and seeing the Eagles make these splashes, it's clear that the Chiefs can't be complacent. This isn't just about keeping up with the Eagles but adding the needed improvements to keep up in the AFC. Looking at the biggest needs of note, the franchise could use help in the backfield and at the edge positions. This leaves a clear path for improvement and every reason for GM Brett Veach to make at least one blockbuster move ahead of Tuesday's deadline. Kansas City badly needs a win right now, and it must come in the form of impact additions.

Chiefs Front Office Must Make Splashy Moves After Philadelphia's Latest Blockbuster

While the Chiefs have always been a team that is doubted, there is no denying that this season feels a bit different. Whether it is due to the improved AFC West or simply normal aging for a roster whose season doesn't begin until January, it is clear that a boost is needed. A boost beyond what Rashee Rice has been able to provide in his return. Looking at the perfect remaining targets, there is no better offensive addition than Breece Hall.

Hall is the perfect offensive answer that will give the attack a bit of balance. So much unfair pressure is on Patrick Mahomes due to a lack of balance in the offensive attack. Bringing in Hall gives the Chiefs a star presence that can establish the run, as well as being a consistent threat as a receiver out of the backfield.

Defensively, there are a myriad of potential options, with one standing out above the rest. Edge rusher Zaven Collins is the perfect overlooked option who could hit the market with the Arizona Cardinals quickly falling far out of contention. While Maxx Crosby or Trey Hendrickson are more enticing options, it is hard to see either player's salary or asking price falling under Kansas City's current roster.

Furthering this is the fact that both teams are rivals and are very unlikely to want to help the Chiefs, no matter their current contending status. Making Collins the perfect compromise and potential boost to the edge rushing rotation.

Whether it is these exact pieces or others, there is no mistaking the fact that there must be a sense of urgency. The situation demands impact moves be made in the next 24 hours or Chiefs fans will have a true cause for concern.
