There are several intriguing position battles going on for the Kansas City Chiefs now that OTAs and minicamp are over, and they have significant depth in a few areas that could result in some surprising roster decisions by the time training camp is over.
The cornerback room is loaded. After acquiring former Los Angeles Chargers standout Kristian Fulton and drafting the country's interception leader in Nohl Williams, there's a reasonable argument to make that the organization has the league's best defensive backfield even after losing Justin Reid in free agency.
What that means is one veteran likely won't make the roster, suggesting that someone in particular may be on the trade block following OTAs.

Chiefs CB Joshua Williams Potentially on Trade Block After OTAs
Joshua Williams represents someone who could be on the chopping block or trade block in order to make room for the new additions. He lost his job near the end of the season, only serving as a special-teams contributor with zero defensive snaps during the playoffs.
On top of Fulton and Nohl Williams, Kansas City also has All-Pro Trent McDuffie, Jaylen Watson, Chamarri Conner, Chris Roland-Wallace, and Nazeeh Johnson. That's a full room. Joshua Williams' special teams efforts go a long way to keeping a roster spot, though he's had enough success that the Chiefs could likely flip him for a depth piece at a bigger position of need.
Originally a fourth-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, Williams is on the last year of his contract. Considering how money has been spent elsewhere, it doesn't seem probable that Kansas City would retain him unless it's near the league minimum. He's a Super Bowl champion and would always be fondly remembered in the Kingdom, yet it's become clear that defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo doesn't trust him in the lineup.
Perhaps things can change this summer, but don't be surprised if Williams gets traded by the end of the summer.
