The Kansas City Chiefs are sitting with an 11-1 record as we head into Week 14. Kansas City owns a one-game lead over the Buffalo Bills for the No. 1 seed in the conference and has an AFC West showdown against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday Night Football.

The Chiefs have dealt with some injuries and shaky play at the tackle position but found ways to secure wins on game day.

As Kansas City is getting ready for this divisional tilt, it has been reported that left tackle Wanya Morris has been benched.

Chiefs News: D.J. Humphries is Starting On Sunday

According to Matt Derrick of ChiefsDigest.com, left tackle D.J. Humphries will be getting his first start for the Chiefs.

Back on Nov. 22, the Chiefs signed Humphries signed a one-year deal with a $2 million salary with a max value of $4.5 million.

Morris has started in 10 games this season but has been a turntable at tackle. He's allowed 33 total pressures, seven hits, and five sacks. He's ranked 108th among eligible tackles with a 50.7 overall grade and a 51.2 run-blocking grade.

In the win over the Las Vegas Raiders on Black Friday, Morris was benched in the fourth quarter and that was the final straw.

The Chiefs know they must keep Patrick Mahomes upright so getting Humphries out there can dramatically change that.

Last season with the Arizona Cardinals, Humphries was a solid presence along the trenches. He logged a 62.5 overall grade and a 68.4 pass-blocking grade. The 30-year-old also has a 2021 Pro Bowl appearance under his belt.

This move was expected to happen once Humphries put pen to paper but now it's officially going down on Sunday Night Football.
