Chiefs Announce Final Isiah Pacheco Injury News Before Raiders Game
By Joe Summers
The Chiefs officially activated RB Isiah Pacheco and DE Charles Omenihu for the Black Friday game against the Raiders, signaling their return to the field for the two-time defending Super Bowl champions.
Given how large of a favorite Kansas City is, it'd be surprising to see either player play a significant role, though they'll likely each earn some snaps to get back into the speed of things.
For a team whose offense has struggled, Pacheco's return in particular provides a significant boost worth writing home about.
Chiefs RB Isiah Pacheco Returning From Injury on Friday
The third-year running back emerged as one of the NFL's best weapons in 2023, accumulating over 1,100 yards from scrimmage with nine TDs.
Pacheco got off to a hot start early this year as well, rushing the ball 34 times for 135 yards and a score while adding seven catches for 54 yards. He's worked hard on his pass-catching ability in the offseason, adding a new dimension to an already exciting skillset.
He'll work in tandem with Kareem Hunt, who has become one of the NFL's biggest surprises of the season. With Rashee Rice and Hollywood Brown still out, Pacheco's involvement in the offense carries greater weight.
Omenihu plays a huge role as well. Kansas City's defensive line has been underwhelming at best, so fans hope Omenihu will provide a capable defender that the line has sorrowfully lacked.
Regardless of what happens on Friday, these two returning is a wonderful development. Pacheco has spent too much time sidelined and it'll be great to see him back on the field.
