The Kansas City Chiefs will finally get the regular season started on Friday night against a division rival in the Los Angeles Chargers. It'll be the second NFL game ever in Brazil and provides a great opportunity for the Chiefs to improve to 4-0 in international contests.

It's a game Kansas City should win but there will be a packed crowd and the league is pulling out all of the stops for entertainment.

Not only will there be a Brazilian singer performing the Brazilian national anthem, but a popular American composer will also do a rendition of the United States national anthem as well.

Chiefs vs. Chargers National Anthem Singer Revealed

As noted by the NFL's official X account, Kamasi Washington will sing the American anthem, while Ana Castela will do the Brazilian one.

Washington is a successful composer, arranger, and jazz saxophonist. He's a founding member of the jazz collective West Coast Get Down, responsible for songs like "Street Fighter Mass" and "Clair de Lune".

For Castela, it's a major opportunity for a 21-year-old rising star to shine not only in front of her home fans, but for those watching in the United States as well. There will also be a halftime show performed by Colombian singer Karol G, and to celebrate the occasion, the Chiefs released a Portuguese version of their anthem, "Red Kingdom," performed by Brazilian singer Luísa Sonza.

Music is obviously a large part of both countries' culture, so it's nice to see that the league is prioritizing shining a light on these musicians.

The game is scheduled to be at 7:00 PM CT. According to FanDuel Sportsbook, Kansas City is a three-point favorite over its division rival, against whom the Chiefs have seven straight wins. This will be a new-look team after overhauling the offensive line, bringing new receivers in, and losing Justin Reid in the secondary. With Rashee Rice suspended, it'll be an opportunity for other wideouts to step up and keep the offense moving.

No matter what happens, it's thrilling that the season is here and Kansas City can put the Super Bowl loss behind it. In the meantime, it'll be fun to keep an eye on Washington, Castela, and the other talented performers on Friday night.
