Chiefs 7-Round Mock Draft Features Big Trade to Help KC

The NFL recently announced the awarded compensation picks for the 2025 NFL draft, giving the Chiefs two more picks on day three and a total of eight picks in the draft this year.

In the past, Brett Veach has proven to be very successful making additions on day three of the draft, which has played a significant role in the Chiefs' success over the last few years. This week, the Chiefs added two more Day Three selections through the compensation pick formula.

This gives Brett Veach and the Chiefs management even more chances to add contributors late in the draft. Today, I put together a potential 2025 draft class where the Chiefs trade up to get their guy before jumping into a seven-round mock draft.

Round One, Pick 19: Kenneth Grant, DT, Michigan

I just recently published an article about Kenneth Grant being the ideal pick up for the Chiefs on the defensive line after their losses along the unit. The film for Grant is impressive, and is even more jaw-dropping when you realize his incredible size. Grant is six-foot-three and is a legit 340 pounds. But despite carrying all that weight, Grant is more than just a run stuffer and has incredible movement skills with high potential as a pass rusher as well.

The biggest need for the Chiefs this offseason is adding a run-stuffing defensive tackle who can play next to Chris Jones. Grant is an elite run-stuffer who is the last guy you want to leave one-on-one on the interior of the line. Teams won't be able to double team both Grant and Jones, and the two of them on the field will be a handful for defensive coaches looking to hold them down.

With this trade up, the Chiefs are able to get my second ranked defensive tackle, and with this addition, make one of the best defensive lines in the NFL.

Round Three, Pick 66: Quinshon Judkins, RB, Ohio State

I am rarely a fan of teams spending significant draft capital on running back, but if they do, this is the guy I want them to go get. Judkins is currently my second-ranked running back and in my opinion, is the most underrated back in this year's draft.

Judkins is a skilled all-around back with a compact frame who runs with violent power and makes plays with the ball in his hands. Judkins is a polished player, who is skilled with the ball and as a pass blocker, so he can be on the field at all times.

The Chiefs have Isiah Pacheco and just added Elijah Mitchell through free agency, but this is a very strong RB class, if Judkins falls to them, he should be near the top of their board. Judkins started his career at Ole Miss and has put up three straight seasons with over 1,000 yards rushing and has 45 rushing touchdowns in his career. I have a first round grade on Judkins and he is top 25 on my big board, but there are rumors he could fall well into the third round.

The Chiefs should not let that happen, and if he is available at pick 66 (or 63 for that matter), they shouldn't think twice.
