It seems even with a two-game division lead, the Kansas City Chiefs still strike terror into the Denver Broncos. Ahead of Sunday's pivotal AFC West showdown, the Broncos made an interesting move that points to a level of desperation. According to Elite Loyalty Sports, offensive lineman Geron Christian has signed with Denver ahead of Week 11. The former Chief just happening to sign with a rival before the game appears to be far more than a simple coincidence.

This move is an attempt to gain any possible insight or edge on a team that has dominated the rivalry ever since Patrick Mahomes took over. Kansas City is 8-2 in their last ten against Denver, and one of these wins came against Carson Wentz in the final week of the 2024 season when the division was long decided. With this in mind, it makes sense that the Broncos are stooping to this level to attempt to find any possible edge against a franchise that simply has their number.

As long as Mahomes and Andy Reid are standing on the opposing sideline, it is impossible to believe the Broncos should be favored even with the team's respective records. Denver's signing of the former Chiefs reeks of desperation for a scared franchise that understands it remains overmatched.

Chiefs Rival Signs Former KC Lineman in Desperation Move Ahead of Sunday's Showdown

Winning in Week 11 isn't just about making up one game on the Broncos and sitting firmly back in the division picture, but reminding Denver of who they are. So many of the Broncos' wins this season have been lucky breaks or improbable comebacks in games that appeared to have fallen far out of control. With this in mind, a loss to the Chiefs suddenly creeps into the minds of this roster, pushing them to consider that perhaps this was simply a lucky start.

Signing a former Chief to attempt to gain insight is simply a sad attempt to add an edge that isn't going to make a difference. Reid is 22-4 out of a bye week in his time as a head coach, furthering the fear that Denver should be feeling.

After sitting on a tough loss to the Bills, the Chiefs have had a long two weeks to sit back and plan for Denver. Something that has obviously scared the division rival into making moves that simply aren't going to help them when the game matters most.

It doesn't matter how many former Chiefs the Broncos steal or what the game plan is on Sunday. Kansas City remains the better roster despite its record, and this move simply proves the fact that deep down, Denver knows this.

The Chiefs are going to win Sunday's divisional showdown, reestablishing themselves as a divisional threat and reminding the Broncos that it is Kansas City who is built for January football. All this move has done is further focus a desperate Chiefs team, who still have plenty of time and road ahead to remind the league of their dominance.
