Andy Reid Shares Chiefs Injury Update After 1st AFC Title Practice
By Jovan Alford
The two-time defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs will welcome the Buffalo Bills to GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday for the AFC title game. The Chiefs are coming off a 23-14 win over the Houston Texans in the divisional round, while the Bills picked up a tough 27-25 victory over the Baltimore Ravens.
Kansas City enters Sunday’s title game as a 1.5-point home favorite on FanDuel Sportsbook and is relatively healthy, which is rare for any team at this stage of the season.
On Wednesday’s AFC title game injury report, the Chiefs had four players listed, including star quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who had an ankle injury. However, all players were listed as full participants.
Ahead of Thursday’s practice, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid spoke with the media and provided another great injury update.
Chiefs News: No New Injuries To Report for Kansas City Ahead of AFC Title Game
According to Pete Sweeney of Arrowhead Pride, Reid said the Chiefs have no new injuries to report from Wednesday’s workout and everyone will practice again on Thursday.
If you are a Chiefs fan, this is fantastic news as they’ll need a healthy roster on both sides of the ball to defeat Josh Allen and the Bills. The last time these two teams played each other in Week 11, the Chiefs did not have defensive end Charles Omenihu and running back Isiah Pacheco.
Meanwhile, the Bills were without rookie wide receiver Keon Coleman, second-year tight end Dalton Kincaid, and veteran linebacker Matt Milano.
Omenihu and Pacheco eventually returned to the field in Week 13 against the Las Vegas Raiders. Omenihu had a huge game against the Texans last week, posting four combined tackles, a forced fumble, a sack, and a tackle for loss.
The Chiefs will be looking for him to apply pressure on Allen and keep him from escaping the pocket in Sunday’s game.
