The Kansas City Chiefs continue their dominance as they improve to 14-1 on the season. On Saturday, Kansas City defeated the Houston Texans 27-19, finishing the regular season a perfect 8-0 at Arrowhead.

The Chiefs sit in a great position to secure the No. 1 seed in the AFC and have the playoffs run through KC. Throughout the season, Kansas City has dealt with multiple injuries and had to overcome them.

They had Marquise 'Hollywood' Brown making his 2024 debut in this game, securing five catches for 45 yards. While that was great to see, they lost OT Jawaan Taylor in the third quarter. Taylor left the game with a knee injury and was listed as questionable to return. He ultimately sat the remainder of the game and Wanya Morris finished the contest out.

Following the matchup, head coach Andy Reid gave an update on Taylor.

Chiefs News: Jawaan Taylor Has Strained Knee

It's been revealed that Taylor has a strained knee. That isn't ideal since Kansas City has another game in four days, traveling to play the Pittsburgh Steelers on Christmas Day. Taylor's injury is just the latest one for the Chiefs offensive line.

D.J. Humphries suffered a hamstring injury in his first game against the Los Angeles Chargers. That forced him to miss the games against the Browns and Texans but the Chiefs expect him to be ready to roll against the Steelers.

Over the last two games, Joe Thuney has started at left tackle. We'll have to see the severity of Taylor's injury in the coming days, but there's a good chance that he won't play on Christmas.

Humphries started the first 10 games of his career at right tackle before switching over to the left side. There could be a pathway for him to move over to RT and let Thuney stay at LT if Taylor can't give it a go.

The silver lining is that the Chiefs are 14-1 and the Buffalo Bills (No. 2 seed) are 11-3 going into Week 16. Kansas City has some wiggle room and can afford to let Taylor rest if that's the direction they want to head in.
