Andy Reid Makes Big Kareem Hunt Comments as Pacheco Nears Return
By Joe Summers
The Chiefs are preparing for Isiah Pacheco's return from injury and he could play as soon as this Sunday against the Panthers, though reasonable questions have been raised about how his involvement will factor into Kareem Hunt's workload.
Hunt has been superb since signing as a free agent, compiling 625 yards from scirmmage and five TDs entering Week 12.
Based on new comments from head coach Andy Reid, it sounds like the coaching staff will do its best to get both standout running backs plenty of touches moving forward.

"We'll find a way," Reid said when asked about the two backs. "Both of them are good players. We'll find a way to get both of them in if and when that takes place. That's a good problem to have."
It absolutely is. Pacheco emerged as one of the NFL's best runners in 2023 and a focal point of the offense, though hasn't played since Week 2. Hunt has been excellent, but there's no denying Pacheco's impact when he's on the field.
Having two dependable running backs is a lot better than having one. The Chiefs have notably worn Hunt down, giving him 21+ carries four times already this year. That's likely not sustainable, so Pacheco's return will help keep Hunt fresh as Kansas City approaches the playoffs.
While it may take some time for the offense to figure out the right balance, there's plenty of time before the postseason to find an equilibrium.
Both Hunt and Pacheco put massive pressure on defenses. Reid knows that, and he'll make sure that Hunt doesn't face into obscurity once Pacheco's back on the field.
