Entering Week 11, the Kansas City Chiefs had 272 rushes for 1,036 yards, averaging 3.8 yards per carry.. Their effectiveness on the ground this season was a big reason why they were undefeated heading into their matchup with the Buffalo Bills.

On the other hand, the Bills entered the game with one of the worst rush defenses in the NFL. Therefore, many thought a key for the Chiefs winning against the Bills would be to get the ground game going.

Implementing the run would have not only complimented Patrick Mahomes and the offense but would have kept Josh Allen off the field.

Unfortunately, the Cheifs didn't run the ball much against the Bills totaling only 17 carries. As expected, Kareem Hunt led the way with 14 carries for 60 yards, averaging 4.29 yards a carry. Besides Hunt, Carson Steele, Mcole Hardman and Xavier Worthy all had one carry.

Only giving one running back other than Hunt a carry is totally unacceptable in a game of this importance. As a result, the media asked Andy Reid about his decision not to run the ball more often in his post-game press conference.

Reid simply said "I could probably call some more runs when it's all said and done."

All Chiefs fans can agree with Reid's assessment of his running game plan. If the Chiefs had run the ball more, they could have kept Allen and the Bills offense off the field.

When it was all set and done, the Bills' offense ended the game with four touchdowns, one field goal, three punts and one interception. Running the ball more than 17 times could have at least cut one of those possessions out of the game.

One less possession for the Bills may have meant one less score and a Chiefs victory. Instead, the Chiefs suffered their first loss of the season and are only one game up in the race for the number one seed now.
