6 Chiefs UDFAs Most Likely to Make the Roster

Kansas City added several players after the draft. Here are some who could crack the team day one.

4. Eddie Czaplicki, Punter, USC

This one will be short because if I'm being honest, Czaplicki is not a guy I watched this offseason, and I did not have a scouting report for him going into the draft. The reason he is on this list is simply because Matt Araiza did not play to the level many fans were expecting. Araiza has a massive leg and can flip the field, but struggles with accuracy to pin teams deep inside the 20. If Czaplicki performs well, he will force Dave Toub to have a serious conversation about who they want to be their punter going forward.

5. Elijah Badger, WR, Florida

The Chiefs have a big need at wide receiver, which is why they drafted Jalen Royals in the fourth round. But weirdly enough, I have Badger ranked only one spot lower than Royals on my wide receiver board, and I had a sixth-round grade on him.

Badger is a great fit with the Chiefs, as he has the size to play outside but is also quick on his feet and can be effective in the slot. With Skyy Moore likely on the outs and a lack of overall depth on the roster, the UDFA out of Florida could be in contention for a spot to start the season. Badger has reliable hands and great footwork to be effective as a pass catcher and make plays in space.

Badger lacks physicality and is a subpar blocker in the run game, which causes some concern for teams, but is something the Chiefs don't value too much. I love what Badger could bring to the team, and if the team is ready to move on from Skyy Moore, and Badger has a good camp, he could make a play to crack the roster.

6. Brandon George, LB, Pitt

George is another guy that I have not watched on film, but after seeing his athletic testing numbers, I will have to get around to that. Based on the testing, George has proven to have an incredibly high ceiling and, with some development, could have an NFL role. His size and speed could make him a valuable linebacker in the NFL. The Chiefs have a somewhat crowded linebacker room, so it will be tough for George, but if he performs well on special teams, he could make the team.
