The Kansas City Chiefs have had a history of success after the draft and have had a UDFA crack the opening day roster almost every year over the last decade. Guys like Tershawn Wharton, Carson Steele, Charvarius Ward, and Malik Herring are just a few recent UDFAs who cracked the Chiefs roster and have made impacts over the last few years. The Chiefs' development has been impressive, and their ability to identify talent after the draft is potentially the best in the NFL.

This year, the Chiefs have been active post-draft, looking to land more talent, and so far have brought in several key names who could be impactful. The Chiefs have been looking to add depth to their roster after injuries made life very hard for them down the stretch. It is all but guaranteed that one post-draft addition will make the roster out of training camp, and several more will compete on the practice squad as well.

Let's take a look at some of the top pick-ups the Chiefs made and who could make the team out of training camp this season.

1. Glendon Miller, DB, Maryland

Miller was my number two player on the list of UDFAs for the Chiefs to target after an exceptional year at Maryland. Miller started his career as a corner, but moved around in the secondary to find more play time with guys like Deonte Banks, Tarheeb Still, and Jakorian Bennett taking most of the corner reps. Miller played more corner this year for the Terps as their secondary was one of the worst in college football, but Miller was a highlight for them. Here is what I said about him earlier this year...

"Miller is a very under-the-radar name mainly because of the abysmal performance from the Maryland secondary last season. But Miller transitioned from corner to safety late in his college career and ended up playing great over the top for the Terps. Miller had 7 interceptions over the last 2 years, and he can play corner, safety, and in the slot. His versatility is valuable and at minimum, he will compete for a spot on special teams."

With his big frame and versatility, I will likely have Miller in my day one roster projections as I think he will impress the staff. The Chiefs are looking for DB depth, both at safety and corner, and Miller can potentially kill two birds with one stone. He also has some experience on special teams, which is often how UDFAs can earn roster spots. Regardless, Miller will be in the conversation when cut day comes around in August.
