2. Las Vegas Raiders

The Raiders didn’t re-sign Josh Jacobs in free agency as they saw him go to Green Bay on a large four-year deal.

With no Jacobs in Vegas, the Raiders felt comfortable with Zamir White as their lead running back in 2024. However, that hasn’t worked out for the Chiefs’ AFC West foes as the Raiders have the third-worst ground attack in the NFL (84 yards per game).

Then to make matters worse, White has been banged up this season with a groin injury. The 25-year-old running back has recorded 152 yards on 49 carries (3.1 yards per carry) in four games.

Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce likely didn’t anticipate White having a slow start after seeing what he did in the latter half of 2023. Raiders veteran running back Alexander Mattison has had some success in Weeks 4 and 5, but he’s only averaging 3.9 yards per carry, which isn’t impressive.

Based on what Hunt has done in two games with Kansas City, you can make the case that Las Vegas could’ve used a playmaker out of the backfield like Hunt given their offensive woes (19.2 points per game – 23rd in the NFL).
