The Kansas City Chiefs hosted their local pro day early this week with several key names in attendance from local schools like Kansas, Missouri, Kansas State among several others. The team hosted 53 draft hopefuls at the event including several fan favorites like Devin Neal, Jacob Parrish and Johnny Walker.

The Chiefs have often built relationships with the local community and their players and this event allows under-the-radar guys to build relationships with the staff for draft weekend. Today, I took a look at some of my favorite names that were in attendance for the pro day on Monday and how they could factor into the Chiefs draft day plans.

1. Devin Neal, RB, Kansas

As far as fan favorite go, Devin Neal likely sits at the very top of the list and is also likely the best fit for the Chiefs of all those in attendence on Monday.

Devin Neal is a local kid through and through, and after his illustrious college and high school career, it's no wonder why fans adore him. Neal was once the top high school player in the state of Kansas out of Lawrence High School where he ran for 4,343 yards and just shy of 50 touchdowns. Neal's success continued at Kansas where he became the program's all-time leading rusher by over 500 yards and was consistently one of the best backs in the nation.

In the draft, Neal currently ranks as my 11th-best running back in the class and would be a great fit in the Chiefs' offense with Isiah Pacheco. I have consistently compared Devin Neal to David Montgomery throughout the draft process, due to his elite pass-blocking and power despite subpar athletic testing.

Neal is likely to go early-to-middle Day Three, but he is a guy who I think is more than capable of having a significant day-one impact in the NFL. Neal helped turn around the Kansas football program and is a proven winner at every level he has played. I think he is a great fit in the Chiefs' offense and would make me significantly more confident in the Chiefs' running back room for 2025.
