3. Mike Williams, WR, Jets

As with basically any "realistic" trade candidate for the Kansas City Chiefs, each player has to come with the caveat that the team trading the player away would have to eat some salary in order to facilitate a trade with the Chiefs.

How much do teams really want to help Kansas City in their pursuit of a third-straight Super Bowl? We're fixin' to find out.

The Chiefs would be a very interesting landing spot for someone like Mike Williams, because Williams has plenty of history in the AFC West trying to beat the Chiefs as a former member and first-round pick of the Los Angeles Chargers. Williams has been a pretty infrequent contributor this season to the New York Jets, who just recently acquired Davante Adams from the Las Vegas Raiders.

It felt like the Jets had acquired Williams in the first place because Allen Lazard was such a disappointment for them last year, but Lazard has emerged this season and the addition of Adams along with the presence of Garrett Wilson have obviously caused Williams to ask for a trade out of town.

And I think the Jets will oblige that request, but there will be competition for his services with so many receiver injuries piling up around the league. The Chiefs will have to make a competitive offer but if they can get the Jets to pay most of Williams' salary this year, they might be willing to overpay a little bit to bring him in.
