The Kansas City Chiefs are trying to win a third-straight Super Bowl, something that has never been done before in NFL history. Accomplishing that would obviously set this team apart as one of the greatest dynasties of all-time, if not marking them as the single greatest dynasty the NFL has ever known. And the Chiefs are proving that even the war on attrition isn't going to bog them down.

Despite injuries to a number of key players on either side of the ball, the Chiefs have remained without blemish on their record heading into Week 8 and they have a chance to potentially get even better on paper before they get healther as the season rolls along.

Are there realistic trade candidates out there for the Chiefs right now with all of the rumors floating around? Would teams who are interested in "selling" at the deadline actually give up players to help the Chiefs? Let's look at some potentially "realistic" targets of names that have already been thrown out there.

3 realistic trade targets for the Kansas City Chiefs in 2024

1. Greg Newsome, CB, Browns

When it comes to players who could "realistically" be available in a trade at the NFL trade deadline, you have to look first at teams that could be in "selling" mode. The Cleveland Browns have already taken one major step toward being a seller at this year's trade deadline by giving up wide receiver Amari Cooper to the Buffalo Bills for NFL Draft compensation.

And with one more loss, it's possible we could see even more selling by the Browns.

One player who has to be considered on the block is former first-round cornerback Greg Newsome. Newsome has been relegated to the slot for the Browns with Denzel Ward and Martin Emerson on the outside, and Newsome is a free agent after this season. It also just so happens that Newsome is not having a good year so far this year, allowing a QB rating into his coverage over 114.

The Chiefs might be able to "buy low" on a former first-round pick and see if he can thrive with all of their losses at the cornerback position.
