2. Explore Wide Receiver Trade Market

Kansas City received an incredible performance from Smith-Schuster against the Saints, who had seven receptions (eight targets) for 130 yards. The last time the veteran wide receiver had 100-plus yards in a game was in Week 7 of the 2022 season (seven receptions for 124 yards and a touchdown).

With that in mind, the Chiefs cannot put all their eggs in Smith-Schuster’s basket. They need to find another playmaker to add to their wide receiver room.

Luckily, multiple wideouts could be available before next month’s trade deadline. Receivers such as Adam Thielen, Diontae Johnson, and DeAndre Hopkins are three guys, who could step in and add to KC’s offense.

Right now, the Chiefs have a speedy playmaker in Xavier Worthy, but he’s still a rookie at the end of the day. As for the veterans, Smith-Schuster, Justin Watson, and Skyy Moore are all question marks.

The Chiefs would love for Smith-Schuster to turn back the clock to the 2022 season, where he had 78 receptions (101 targets) for 933 yards and three touchdowns. But he’s not a No. 1 WR at this point of his career, especially with Travis Kelce still struggling.

For the Chiefs to make a deep playoff run and return to the Super Bowl for an unprecedented three-straight season, they need to make a splash for a receiver.
