Kansas City Chiefs fans might be used to seeing their team in the Super Bowl by now, but the excitement of the big game isn't dampened at all by the familiarity of the situation. As a sports fan, few things are as exciting, or often as nervewracking, as watching your team play for the championship.

The other thing that never gets old is the crazy array of bets that are available for the Super Bowl — and they seem to get crazier every year.

Nobody is surprised, at this point, that you can bet on things like the color of Gatorade dumped on the winning coach or how long the National Anthem performance will be. But there are some wild Chiefs-specific bets that you might not know are available.

1. Any Offensive Lineman to Score a TD (16-to-1 on DraftKings Sportsbook)

What's more fun than a big guy touchdown? Some teams readily use offensive linemen as eligible receivers near the goal line. Chiefs tackle Wanya Morris even has a touchdown this season, which he scored in Week 2 against the Cincinnati Bengals.

But this is probably not a bet you want to place.

Consider that, per Pro Football Focus, this is the full list of Chiefs or Eagles offensive linemen to run any routes as a receiver this year:

  • Chiefs tackle Wanya Morris (1 route)
  • Chiefs guard Mike Caliendo (1 route)

In 2023 there was one single route run by an o-lineman for either team (Donovan Smith for the Chiefs), and in 2022 neither team had an offensive lineman run a single route all season.

Before Morris, the last Chiefs offensive lineman to score a touchdown was Eric FIsher in 2020. Before that was Joe Valerio in 1995. The last Eagles offensive lineman to score a touchdown was Lane Johnson in 2021. Before that was Todd Herremans in 2010.

Coaches like to break out the trickery in the Super Bowl, but not many are going to trust an offensive lineman with the ball in his hands when the stakes are as high as they are. In fact, the only linemen to ever score Super Bowl touchdowns were defensive linemen. Even that has only happened three times, and only one was on an offensive snap (William "The Refridgerator" Perry's rushing TD in 1986).

2. Travis Kelce Proposes to Taylor Swift post-Super Bowl? (8-to-1 on BetMGM)

Could anything infuriate Chiefs haters more than Taylor Swift stealing the postgame spotlight with Travis Kelce down on one knee as confetti rains down? A team pulls off a historic three-peat, and the camera is firmly on Swift?

That's the best reason I've got to back this bet. It would just be hilarious.

But that's also why it's another one that it's hard to imagine happening. Kelce has earned the spotlight, and all the fame and adoration he's received over the years. If he wins another Super Bowl, fans really won't be able to fault him for retiring.

But it's also nearly impossible to imagine him doing something this selfish to his teammates. The celebration is going to be about the Chiefs, and their incredible accomplishments on the field.

Will Kelce propose this offseason? I have no idea, and I'm not going to pretend I do. But the bet stipulates that it must happen on the TV broadcast, and it's just hard to envision a world in which that's remotely feasible.

The nice thing is that BetMGM actually lets you bet on it not happening too, except you'd need to tie up $200 in a wager just to stand to win $10 in that case.

3. Travis Kelce to Be the Fastest Ball Carrier (100-to-1 on FanDuel Sportsbook)

NFL Next Gen Stats tracking has its pros and cons, but tracking the speed of players gives us some really interesting data every week. It really shows us who the fastest players are when it counts, rather than just talking about the speed based on vibes or 40-yard-dash times.

So getting to bet on the fastest offensive ball carrier in the game is kind of fun. And seeing Kelce so hilariously low in the odds is really funny.

For some context, the fastest ball carrier in the NFL this season was Dallas Cowboys receiver KaVontae Turpin, who hit 22.36 MPH in Week 11. The fastest Eagles or Chief was Saquon Barkley, hitting 21.93 MPH in Week 7 and 21.91 MPH in Week 12 (No. 4 and No. 5 in the NFL for the season). Xavier Worthy clocked in the fastest Chiefs speed at 21.46 MPH in Week 4.

Kelce's fastest speed in the last seven years is just 19.68 MPH. He didn't even crack the top-20 for fastest players in Conference Championship week.

Kelce may still be a major receiving threat, but having significantly worse odds than even Patrick Mahomes (65-to-1) highlights just how much he's relying on veteran savvy to make up for his lack of speed at this stage of his career.
