3 Chiefs on Thin Ice After Backbreaking Loss to Bills in Week 11

2. The Secondary Aside From Trent McDuffie
It typically makes sense to identify just individual players for these types of stories but virtually the entire defense played poorly. The Chiefs' dynasty has been built on the backs of Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, Chris Jones, and the defense, but the latter failed to hold up its end of the bargain.
Despite facing a depleted Buffalo offense, Kansas City's secondary couldn't slow Josh Allen and his receivers down. Amari Cooper had a pair of impressive catches for 55 yards, Khalil Shakir hauled in eight balls for 70 yards, and Curtis Samuel had 55 yards and a score.
Samuel notched only 35 yards in the previous three games combined, so letting him get loose was a major problem.
This will be less of an issue once Jaylen Watson returns from injury. Joshua Williams, Chamarri Conner, and Nazeeh Johnson have all relatively struggled in Watson's absence, making the depth of the Chiefs' secondary a potential issue.
Should Watson be slowed once he comes back, Spagnuolo has to find a way to manufacture production out of the secondary. Fans shouldn't worry about this defense overall, but it's a situation to monitor.
Trent McDuffie had a strong game after having issues with Courtland Sutton in Week 10. He's still among the best corners in the league, though he doesn't have the help he once did.
