Chiefs Regain Control of AFC West Divisional Odds With Week 2 Victory
After a one-week blip that saw the Chiefs fall to -130 to win the AFC West, Kansas City’s odds surged following a Week 2 win over Jacksonville while every other team in the division lost.
The Chiefs took down the 1-0 Jags with a dominant defensive performance as the Broncos, Chargers, and Raiders all lost.
Kansas City is now a clear favorite to win the division for an eighth straight year. Everyone’s preseason darling, the Los Angeles Chargers, are 0-2 and the Broncos and Raiders’ seasons seem over before they’ve even begun.
AFC West Divisional Odds
At -230 odds, the Chiefs are heavy favorites over the Chargers (+460), Raiders (+1000) and Broncos (+1400). Looking ahead at the upcoming schedules, Kansas City will likely only widen that gap in the following weeks.
The Chiefs face the lowly Bears next week before taking on an Aaron Rodgers-less Jets team. Kansas City then travels to Minnesota before a pair of games with the Broncos and a matchup against the Chargers sandwiched in between.

Broncos: 0-2 and let the Commanders come back from 18 points down to drop 35 on them.
Raiders: 1-1, only win against Broncos. Bills completely shellacked them.

It’s easy to imagine the Chiefs rattling off six straight wins en route to a Week 9 showdown with Miami, especially given Rodgers’ injury and the general ineptitude of Kansas City’s other opponents.
Taking down Jacksonville was an excellent step in the right direction for Andy Reid’s team. Despite the disappointing Week 1 loss, the Chiefs still control their destiny and have firm control of the AFC West.
