Yesterday, Morris entered a plea deal on a misdemeanor case involving allegations he assaulted an ex-girlfriend in Dallas in 2022.
Morris is an incoming transfer from Texas after helping lead the Longhorns to an Elite Eight appearance and No. 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament. He was expected to play a role for the Jayhawks this season, competing in a crowded backcourt after averaging 4.6 points per game as a freshman at Texas.
We’ll keep an eye on details as they are reported. Kansas has not yet made an official statement, though the news is just hitting the public space.
As of now, Morris has reportedly been suspended. The Kansas City Star cites a University of Kansas police report that states a rape occurred at McCarthy Hall, though otherwise details are not yet reported.
