Chiefs Get Exciting Updates on Travis Kelce and Chris Jones
Chiefs Kingdom can breathe a sigh of relief. After an ignominious Week 1 performance that leaves Kansas City behind the dreaded Raiders in the AFC West, reinforcements are on the way.
Chris Jones signed a one-year contract and Travis Kelce is progressing in his return to injury, paving the way for both to be on the field when the Chiefs take on Jacksonville in Week 2 on Sunday.
Travis Kelce and Chris Jones Update
The latest update on the two superstars is optimistic, to say the least.
Jones maintained throughout his holdout that he was ready to play and had been working out up to twice a day. We saw how much Kansas City’s defense missed Jones particularly late against Detroit, with the Lions running down the clock and picking up critical first downs.
His return will provide an obvious boost to the team, though Kelce’s would perhaps be even more significant.
The Chiefs’ pass-catchers looked dreadful. If Kelce is able to play, we can put last week behind us and move on to a hopefully successful season.
We’ll see if Kelce’s knee can hold up, as it seems we’re waiting to see if the swelling comes back, but at the very least Kansas City will be a more complete team Sunday with Jones in the fold.
Last week was the first game Kelce missed due to injury since his rookie season. We know he’s itching to get back on the field and hopefully, he’ll make his season debut against a rising Jacksonville squad.
