Sporting KC gets another opportunity to trample an opponent just ahead in the playoff race as they take on the Houston Dynamo tonight at 7:30 PM CST.

Houston has two straight losses after rattling off a four-match win streak, while Sporting picked up a 3-0 victory over Vancouver last week to snap a three-game winless stretch.

These squads played to a 0-0 draw back in September, though the Dynamo picked up a 1-0 victory in the U.S. Open Cup earlier this year.

Can Sporting pick up the road victory against a Houston team that’s 7-1-1 at home? Let’s check out the odds before examining the matchup.

Sporting KC vs Houston Dynamo Odds

Sporting KC vs Houston Dynamo Prediction and Pick

While the Dynamo’s home record is impressive, Sporting has traditionally dominated this matchup. KC is 8-3-2 in its last 13 matches against Houston, though Sporting has been held scoreless in its last three contests on the road against this club.

Luckily, Sporting’s attack is playing well. Alan Pulido has seven goals in his last six matches as KC is averaging just under two goals per game in that stretch.

Houston’s offense is a tale of two extremes, with the Dynamo scoring four goals in three of their last six games and a total of one goal in the other three. KC’s defense will need to be stout and I envision a tightly-contested match as a result.

I don’t think Sporting will fall flat, but it’s also hard to imagine an easy win given the Dynamo’s dominance at home and Sporting’s struggles in Houston. I’m taking Sporting +.5 at -150 odds and think we’re likely to see a draw, though I want some coverage in case Pulido takes over and leads KC to another victory.
