Porter Ellett

Porter Ellett has been with the Chiefs since 2017 and began his time there as the Senior Assistant to the Head Coach. Now in his fifth season with the Chiefs and second season as Offensive Quality Control after promotion in 2020, Ellett may have the chance to move up the ranks and gain a new title as the quarterbacks coach.

During his time in Kansas City, he has worked mostly with the development of quarterbacks while also working with the tight end group. Prior to his days as a Chiefs assistant, Ellett spent his college days working within athletics at both Baylor University and BYU.

Most Chiefs fans will recognize Ellett as the coach on the sideline with only one arm. He has worked through tough times in his life but has come out on the winning end of things making his way to the Chiefs coaching staff. Ellett is a man that is held in high regard to Andy Reid and one that he trusts within the staff.

Not having much of a football background, Ellett may not be the front runner for the job but he is one that knows how things are ran for the Chiefs. Having spent time valuable time working close with Andy Reid and Eric Bienemy, his knowledge of the game has grown to where he would be an easy plug to the quarterback coaching position and keep moving forward developing Mahomes and any quarterback who may come in to work along side the NFLs top quarterback.
