Who could be the next TE1?

Can Travis Kelce continue to play at an elite level throughout the rest of his contract, absolutely. Will Travis Kelce get younger throughout the rest of his contract, absolutely not! It goes without saying that Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce has been a huge contributor to the success of the Chiefs franchise over the past nine years.

During Kelce’s time in KC, he has accumulated multiple Pro Bowl and All-Pro selections. He has hauled in over seven hundred receptions for over nine thousand yards and fifty seven touchdowns during the regular season. He has surpassed the thousand receiving yard mark for six straight seasons (NFL Record) and continues to put on for Chiefs Kingdom year after year. What Kelce has done up to this point in his career is nothing short of Hall of Fame worthy.

Travis Kelce currently has a contract that runs through the 2025 NFL season which leaves him as a free agent at the age of thirty six. Previous history has shown us that tight ends have a natural decline from their late twenties into their thirties. To put into perspective what Travis Kelce has accomplished into his thirties; there have only been twenty six tight ends since the beginning of the NFL (1920) to have sixty plus receptions in a season. Of those twenty six players only eight of them have done it three or more years. Then to put the icing on the cake, Kelce is one of two tight ends to go for ninety plus receptions and over one thousand yards in multiple seasons over the age of thirty, the other guy you may ask, goes by the name of Tony Gonzalez.

Enough about how great Travis Kelce is, let’s get to the part where everyone gets to discuss possible suggestions to who gets to be the next weapon behind the arm of number 15!
