I guess I gave away the plot a little bit during the previous section.
This is a game that the Chiefs should grab at one point and never let go of. The Eagles do not have the defensive skill to stop the Chiefs once they get going. Barring another turnover fest for the Chiefs, this should not be close.
The biggest concerns to taking the Chiefs to cover the spread are those turnovers and garbage time. The Chiefs will likely have a decent lead in the closing minutes of this game, so we will likely see low effort Chiefs’ play. How many points can the Eagles score in those closing minutes? What will the lead look like even going into those minutes.
The Kansas City Chiefs’ defense likely will continue to play hard late into this game, because they have to get better. Building some defensive momentum that they can ride into the next few weeks will be extremely important, so I expect they do not let off the gas entirely on defense.
The seven point spread is a bit hard to get behind in NFL betting. However, I will actually take the Chiefs to cover the spread here.
