No. 1: Nebraska football at Oklahoma Sooners

It has been quite some time since the Nebraska football team has faced off against the Oklahoma Sooners. Interestingly enough, last time the two teams faced was back during the last round of conference realignment, back when the Cornhuskers wanted to make the move to the Big Ten.

Now, Nebraska and Oklahoma will face off as OU looks to leave the Big 12 for the Southeastern Conference.

Unfortunately for the Huskers, while Oklahoma has maintained its status as a powerhouse, Nebraska has struggled mightily in recent seasons. The two teams are set to meet in Norman and the Huskers are considerably outmatched here.

The Oklahoma Sooners are true national championship contenders this season. Meanwhile, the Nebraska Cornhuskers are trying to get back to being bowl eligible.

This sort of match up does not favor Nebraska in any way, shape, or form.

Now, there is a chance that the Huskers could make things difficult for Oklahoma. The Sooners have been prone to losing early season match ups against outmatched competition. Nebraska could theoretically get off to a decent 3-0 start before rolling into Norman for this game and, in theory, there’s a chance that the Huskers catch the Sooners off guard.

Frost and company must be competing at their full potential. Otherwise, this game could get ugly in a hurry.
