No. 3: Kansas State football vs. Iowa State Cyclones

The Iowa State Cyclones have been working on building a legitimately terrifying football program and this year could have another special season in store for Matt Campbell and his team. It wasn’t that long ago that Iowa State was a bit of a pushover for most other programs.

But, that’s clearly not the case any longer as this team is fresh off of a No. 9 finish in last season’s AP poll and is looking to have another really good season this year.

Campbell led his team on a 9-3 campaign last season that featured wins over Oklahoma, Texas and Oregon. However, last year also had losses to Louisiana, Oklahoma State, and Oklahoma (in the Big 12 championship game), all of which contributed in some way to slightly diminishing the greatness of the 2020 Iowa State football season.

Still, the Cyclones had a truly thrilling season last year and could certainly get 10 wins this season.

That could be an issue for Kansas State and teams like the Wildcats.

Last year, the Wildcats were absolutely wrecked by Iowa State as Kansas State fell 45-0 on the road against the Cyclones.

K-State had no chance against Iowa State a season ago. Thankfully, this Kansas State football game will be at home in Manhattan, but would playing at home rather than in Ames really be enough to give K-State a chance in this game?

We’ll find out soon enough.
