Chris Klieman and the Kansas State football team will face a pretty tough schedule in 2021.

Things won’t be easy for the 2021 Kansas State football team. As Chris Klieman and his team gear up for their third season together, it’s worth noting that the Wildcats will be facing several tough foes on their 2021 schedule.

Kansas State football fans have to be hoping that this season will be better than last year.

That’s because 2020 featured an up and down season for the Wildcats. Sure, there were injury issues, but the Wildcats were a bit inconsistent even before injuries derailed what could have been a good year.

On one hand, Kansas State beat the Oklahoma Sooners, one of the two bests team the Big 12 had to offer last season. For the second season in a row, the Kansas State Wildcats handed the Sooners a loss.

But, on the other hand, the Wildcats opened the 2020 season by losing to the Arkansas State Red Wolves. That 35-31 season opening loss happened at home for Kansas State. Oh, and Arkansas State was hardly a good team in 2020 as the Red Wolves finished the season at 4-7.

So, yeah, things could have been better for K-State last year. But there’s a new Kansas State football season up ahead and this team could use a fresh start.

The Wildcats will be getting Skylar Thompson back for a sixth season, which could certainly help Klieman’s offense this season. But, with some of Kansas State’s opponents this season, will getting Thompson back for another year be enough? That seems unlikely. Other players will have to step up for Kansas State, especially in the following five contests.

Without further ado, here are the five toughest games Kansas State has in 2021:
