No. 1: Patrick Mahomes is still the starting quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs

If you’re a fan of the Kansas City Chiefs in 2021 and you’re looking for a reason to be optimistic about this season, just keep in mind who your favorite team’s starting quarterback is. He’s brilliant and few quarterbacks are anywhere near as athletically gifted as him.

Patrick Mahomes is a stunning and incredibly talented quarterback. He’s dynamic and knows how to dissect opposing defenses. He’ll have the chance to lead the Kansas City Chiefs right back to the Super Bowl.

Since 2018, Mahomes has been stellar. In the 45 regular season games Mahomes has played in during the 2018, 2019, and 2020 seasons, he has thrown for 14,152 yards, 114 touchdowns, and just 24 picks while completing 66 percent of his passes.

In eight playoff games, Mahomes has completed 63.5 percent of his passes, thrown for 2,324 yards and 17 touchdowns while only throwing four interceptions.

Oh, and he’s already won one Super Bowl and competed in another.

Look, more than anything else, having arguably the best quarterback in the NFL should certainly make Kansas City Chiefs fans excited about the upcoming season. As long as Mahomes is playing in Kansas City, the Chiefs will certainly have a shot at contending and competing among the best teams in the NFL.

While Texas Tech may have been underwhelming during his time with the Red Raiders in Lubbock, that should not be a reflection

Mahomes is still very young, but he’s a remarkably talented quarterback. He’s surrounded by a ton of other talented players on Kansas City’s offense. The Kansas City Chiefs have a very good defense backing that talented offense. And the Chiefs have a phenomenal head coach.

There are plenty of reasons for Kansas City Chiefs fans to be optimistic about their Super Bowl chances this year.
