Day 2 targets for the Kansas City Chiefs

4. Pat Freiermuth, TE (Penn State)

Some people might be irritated if the Chiefs were to spend a second-round pick on a tight end, but it’s a need for this team. This wouldn’t be a knock on Travis Kelce at all, but rather to compliment him on the field and maybe take some of the attention off of him.

Pat Freiermuth is the TE2 the Chiefs have been dreaming of and it’d definitely open things up in this offense even more. Now defenses couldn’t zero in on just Kelce and Tyreek Hill (which as we saw in the Super Bowl, it is possible to shut both of those guys down), as Patrick Mahomes would then target the 6’5″ tight end out of Penn State instead.

While Freiermuth falling to pick No. 58 would be a dream, I highly doubt he’ll be on the board when Kansas City is ready to make their first or second pick of the draft. If he’s there, however, Andy Reid would have to be itching to add him to his arsenal of weapons.
