Kansas City Chiefs: 5 targets for Day 2 of 2021 NFL Draft
The Kansas City Chiefs have two picks on Day of the 2021 NFL Draft with both of them coming in round two. Who are some names they should look to target?
After trading away their first-round pick in exchange for offensive tackle Orlando Brown, the Kansas City Chiefs will have to wait until pick No. 58 to make their first selection of the 2021 NFL Draft. There will be plenty of talent remaining when the Chiefs are finally on the clock and after they pick at No. 58, they’ll be back on the clock moments later with the No. 63 selection.
Here are some names the Chiefs could look to add with either of their second-round picks.
Day 2 targets for the Kansas City Chiefs
5. Levi Onwuzurike, DL (Washington)
I had the Chiefs landing Levi Onwuzurike with the No. 63 selection in my final mock draft of the year and there was actually some discussion that he could be a first-round pick. He did indeed slide to the second round but Kansas City might not have a realistic shot at landing him so late in round two.
Onwuzurike hasn’t played since 2019, as he opted out of the 2020 season, but he had really promising flashes during that 2019 season at Washington. He totaled 45 tackles (six for loss) and two sacks while also blocking a field goal.
The Chiefs’ defense needs some juice and Onwuzurike would fit the mold. He might not be there for KC to draft but if he is, he’d be hard to pass up.
