KC Chiefs Mock Draft 8.0
Round 6: Pick 181 ā Kary Vincent Jr., CB (LSU)
For the first time in several years, the Chiefs donāt necessarily have to draft a cornerback. They have talent returning at the position, but Charvarius Ward will be a free agent after this year, so itās worth looking to add depth at corner.
Kary Vincent Jr. is the versatile defender that Steve Spagnuolo covets for his defense. Vincent has experience playing both safety and slot corner, which could see him being used in a similar fashion that KC used Kendall Fuller during their Super Bowl-winning season. Fuller was initially used as a corner but split time at safety that year, which elevated both his play and the Chiefsā defense.
Vincent is a bit on the smaller side (5ā10ā, 189 pounds), which is problematic as far as asking him to tackle would be concerned, but heās worth taking a chance on late in the draft. He wouldnāt be thrown to the wolves right away, as the Chiefs would likely consider him a project player but itās never a bad thing to have too much depth in the secondary.
