KC Chiefs 7-Round Mock Draft: Offensive line gets even stronger
KC Chiefs Mock Draft 8.0
Round 2: Pick 63 – Levi Onwuzurike, IDL (Washington)
The Chiefs are prone to taking a player on defense who has boom or bust potential. Levi Onwuzurike is yet another example of this, as he showed a lot of fire during the 2019 season (he opted out last season) but his size could be worrisome in the NFL. Lately, though, he’s received buzz as a potential first-rounder, so getting him this deep in the second round would be a steal for the Chiefs.
The last time Onwuzurike played in a college football game was in 2019 and he had a nice year for the Huskies. The 6’3″, 230 pound-defensive lineman collected 45 tackles (six for loss), two sacks, and also had a blocked field goal. He was a difference-maker on the field, but as mentioned above, his size could be a concern.
His draft profile on NFL.com mentions that he has a unique build with a big upper body but skinny ankles. That’s not ideal for an NFL defensive lineman, but there’s strong potential with Onwuzurike. The Chiefs might be gambling a bit with this pick but if he were to pan out, they’d have themselves a nice depth piece on defense.
