KC Chiefs Mock Draft 7.0

Round 2: Pick 63 – Pat Freiermuth, TE (Penn State)

Pat Freiermuth. 63. player. 806. . Tight End. Nittany Lions

Travis Kelce has shown no signs of slowing down, but that doesn’t mean the Chiefs can’t find a tight end to pair with him. Pat Freiermuth would give the Chiefs a smothering duo at the tight end position, as Freiermuth has been dubbed “Baby Gronk” (see YouTube video below).

The Nittany Lion tight end didn’t shine bright in 2020, but Penn State played in just four games so he really didn’t have a chance to get going. In his two seasons before that, Freiermuth caught 69 receptions for 875 yards and 15 touchdowns.

Considering the Chiefs still have Kelce, Freiermuth wouldn’t need to have a 1,000-yard season. If he could go over the 500-yard mark or even just be a red-zone target, the Chiefs offense would continue to torch the opposition and it’d be really hard to account for Tyreek Hill, Kelce, and Freiermuth.

This would be a great pick for the Chiefs and would terrify defenses for years to come.
