2021 NFL Draft: KC Kingdom First-Round Mock Draft
With the 13th pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, the Los Angeles Chargers select…
Chargers GM: Cullen
The Chargers absolutely need to protect second-year quarterback Justin Herbert, and Darrisaw is a beast who can do just that. Still, the hesitation with this pick is because Alabama wide receiver Jaylen Waddle is still on the board.
That’s quite the weapon to add to the young Herbert’s arsenal. But I’m going instead with protection as Darrisaw can most likely start at left tackle from day one. His presence will instantly help stabilize the Chargers’ offensive line.
Staff Reaction: This is a good pick for the Chargers, who need help protecting their young franchise quarterback. It’d have to be tempting to take Jaylen Waddle here, but making sure Justin Herbert is well-protected should be the bigger priority as of now. – Leigh
With the 14th pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, the Minnesota Vikings select…
Vikings GM: Leigh
This pick might come as a surprise to some people, but the Vikings need help at cornerback and Caleb Farley is one of the best options at the position. They could have gone with more of a safe pick at corner (Greg Newsome, for example), but Farley stood out more.
The issues with Farley have been injuries and that’s why he’s typically mocked at the end of the first round. If he can stay healthy, he’s a top 10 talent in this year’s draft class and the Vikings are gambling that he’ll play like it.
Staff Reaction: A little surprised to see Farley as the second cornerback taken, but if he pans out for the Vikings, they’ll look like geniuses for this selection. – Kole
