With the 27th pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, the Baltimore Ravens select…

player. 26. . EDGE. Baltimore Ravens. Jayson Oweh. 27

Ravens GM (for this pick only): John

The ultimate gamble, as Jayson Oweh is a great athlete that has done basically nothing in college. During the 2020 season, Oweh accumulated zero sacks. Zero. In three years at Penn State, he accumulated a total of seven.

Is he anything more than a great athlete or will the Ravens get pass rush help? If he hits, he could be a steal but he is boom or bust, difficult to imagine an in-between.

Staff Reaction: Oweh is a physical wonder at 6-foot-5 and 252 pounds. No man that size should be able to run a 4.3 40, and yet Oweh does. He may not have an immediate impact in Baltimore as he’s still a bit raw, but that’s okay, as he’s entering the draft as only a redshirt Sophomore. – Cullen

With the 28th pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, the New Orleans Saints select…

. Cornerback. New Orleans Saints. Asante Samuel Jr.. 28. player. 15

Saints GM: Leigh

The Saints have the luxury of not having any major needs and can use this pick on just about any position. They go with Asante Samuel Jr., who they believe will pair nicely with former first-round cornerback Marshon Lattimore.

New Orleans needs to lean heavily on defense in their first year without Drew Brees at the helm and Samuel can help their secondary be one of the best in the league.

Staff Reaction: Really the Saints could go in any number of directions here, so in reality, any pick as long as there is value is a good one. With so much experience lost from this past season including at quarterback, getting a corner is a solid move. Would a linebacker be a better choice? Not sure the value presented itself and pass coverage is king in the NFL, so finding bodies to help do that is paramount. – John
