Kansas City Chiefs: Prospects from smaller schools

Kayode Awosika, OT, Buffalo

Kayode Awosika is not a fit for all teams, but I view the Buffalo offensive tackle as a late-round/ undrafted free-agent type player the Chiefs may really be intrigued by. Not overly physical in the run game and likely not athletic enough to play on the left side, Awosika is a prospect I view as a potential swing tackle or someone the Chiefs could transition to the guard position.

Decent athletically and with size, Awosika has played a lot of games at the MAC level and long term could be a good fit for the Chiefs, but that isn’t a guarantee and is also my biggest worry with the Buffalo tackle.

The Chiefs have Lucas Niang and likely add another tackle to the fold in the earlier rounds of the draft. With a player such as Martinas Rankin and/or Mike Remmers in the fold as backups/depth, where would Awosika fit? Putting him on the practice squad for a year seems like an okay option, but what then? Would he be able to find a role with this team moving forward?
