Kansas City Chiefs: Prospects from smaller schools

David Moore, C/G, Grambling

The Chiefs are likely going to continue to address their long-term offensive line depth, which frankly is not very good, and David Moore is an intriguing prospect to help.

From the smaller but well-known program of Grambling, Moore is a shorter prospect (6’1″) but squatty and moves well for an interior lineman and has experience playing both center and guard. In short, he’s versatile, moves well, and is a developmental interior lineman option for the Chiefs.

With a vast majority of the interior offensive line set to be free agents at the end of the 2021 season, it would be nice if the Chiefs started addressing long-term depth issues along the line. Moore, while likely not an ideal play early candidate, could be a prospect the Chiefs groom to take over at center in 2022 or look at as a multi-year rookie deal depth piece along the offensive line. It worked with Nick Allegretti, so maybe it could work here?

Expect the Chiefs to address left tackle early and potentially the interior offensive line depth late in the draft, or find multiple players as priority undrafted type players. Moore is a late-round candidate who could be worth the draft pick. While not a tackle, the Chiefs could find value in the late-round prospect as a developmental piece.
