The Kansas City Chiefs shouldn’t ignore players from smaller schools in the 2021 NFL Draft. Here are eight names that could fit in well with this team.

Every year, players from schools that many have never heard of hear their names called in the NFL Draft and continue their dream of playing football. Last year, L’Jarius Sneed went from an unknown at Louisiana Tech to an instant impact player as a rookie for the Kansas City Chiefs.

Who are some names that could both fill needs on the roster, building depth and providing long-term potential?

Kansas City Chiefs: Prospects from smaller schools

Robert Rochell, CB, Central Arkansas

If the Chiefs are going to take a chance on a small school player, Robert Rochell is the type of prospect they should want to take a chance on. He’s a really good athlete with limited experience playing against bigger programs and needs to work on the refinement of his technique and using his hands. Considering that the Chiefs appear to be solidly deep in the short term, Rochell is the type of player who quietly learns as a rookie and becomes a contributor.

At the very least, Rochell has the physical ability to be depth at corner and a contributor on specials teams. Based on his size, the Chiefs might be able to teach and develop Rochell in the same manner they used Kendall Fuller while he was in town (depth at both corner and deep cover safety).
