KC Chiefs Mock Draft 6.0

Round 4: Pick 144 – Rodarius Williams, CB (Oklahoma State)

player. 856. . Cornerback. Cowboys . Rodarius Williams. 144

With their second fourth-round selection, the Chiefs address the cornerback position and hope that fourth-round luck strikes again at cornerback. L’Jarius Sneed has proved to be worthy of his Day 3 selection and now the Chiefs hope they can find similar luck with Oklahoma State’s Rodarius Williams.

The Chiefs are set up decently at corner this year, but they could lose Charvarius Ward to free agency after this season, meaning it’s important to have a key backup this year who can step up in 2022 if need be. Williams played in just eight games last year due to the shortened season and tallied 18 tackles, three defended passes, and a forced fumble.

This is the best position KC has been in regarding their cornerbacks in quite some time, but Williams is someone who could play in a backup spot as a rookie and then potentially be handed a bigger role in 2022 if he plays well. Rashad Fenton has gone down this kind of path for the Chiefs and it’s worked out well to this point, so it definitely could work for Williams as well.
