KC Chiefs Mock Draft 6.0

Round 4: Pick 136 – Marvin Wilson, DL (Florida State)

. Defensive Lineman. Seminoles . Marvin Wilson. 136. player. 804

With their first pick on Day 3 of the 2021 NFL Draft, the Chiefs decide to select Marvin Wilson to bolster their defensive line. There aren’t a ton of great defensive line prospects in this draft, unfortunately, but Wilson has potential.

This past year saw the Seminoles d-lineman tally 17 tackles (six for loss) and one sack through six games. The Draft Network notes that while Wilson is able to be a decent run defender, there are things holding him back from truly being a force in that department.

Wilson would definitely be a depth pick, as the Chiefs have their starters set for 2021. Derrick Nnadi is in the final year of his contract, however, and the Chiefs also have Jarran Reed for just one year, so adding depth to potentially take over for either of those guys is a smart move for Kansas City.

Wilson might not be a big name in the draft, but he fits what the Chiefs are looking for and that’d make him a quality pick on Day 3.
