KC Chiefs Mock Draft 6.0

Round 2: Pick 63 – Gregory Rousseau, EDGE (Miami)

Hurricanes . Gregory Rousseau. 63. player. 834. . EDGE

The Chiefs luck out for their second-round pick as well, as Miami EDGE rusher Gregory Rousseau falls to the end of round two and the Chiefs don’t hesitate to snatch him up. Rousseau possesses a true pass-rushing ability (he had a whopping 15.5 sacks in 2019!), which is something the Chiefs desperately need.

Maybe Rousseau fell this deeply into the draft because he made the difficult decision to opt-out of the 2020 season and teams aren’t sure if he’ll still be that dominant pass-rusher in 2019. I’d say he’s worth taking a chance on though, especially if he falls to the second round, as he did in this mock draft.

The Chiefs’ pass rush was hit and miss last season and they need to add someone who can make a splash. Jarran Reed should help in that department, but he’s only signed for one year, so Rousseau makes so much sense here.

This pick would be a downright steal if it played out this way.
